康威号于1928年在达文波特船厂完工，1935-38期间接受了现代化改装，其后一直服役于本土舰队直到1941年。1941-42年服役于皇家海军东方舰队与日军进行战斗。康威号最终于1942年4月5日被日军第一航空战队击沉于锡兰科伦坡西南水域。
